Where did Summer Go?

Where did Summer Go?

Hi everyone, long time no write! The summer slipped by without a post, sadly. I hope you had a good summer, filled with adventure! My summer was a bit up and down. The days felt long, and some weeks went faster than others. In this post, I’d like to share a bit of my camping holiday in Devon!

Tired at the Beach 😫

In July, we went camping at Woolacombe Beach in Devon. I’d not been to this part of Devon (Southwest England) before, and the scenery is breath-taking. Woolacombe is known for being one of the best family-friendly and dog friendly beaches in England. It is also popular with surfers. One aspect I enjoyed most about the beach was how clean it was! Everyone seemed to be responsible with their litter, and they had workers regularly cleaning up. It made for a nice change from Bournemouth, which is beautiful but dirty.

Wilbur loved playing and digging in the sand. He was exhausted by the end of the day and either took himself off to bed, or sometimes needed a cuddle!

My high-maintenance dog needed comfort!

In true English fashion, the ‘roads’ leading down to the beach were very narrow. I’m so glad that Lucy was driving. Despite the anxiety-inducing drive, the views were worth it!

The campsite we stayed at was Combas Farm. This was a working farm with dairy cows, and they sold some of their own milk products. I thought the facilities were well-maintained and the campsite was busy, but not too noisy.

And again, Wilbur being cuddled 🙄

We were incredibly lucky with the weather on this camping trip. I’m sure one day our luck will run out and it will pour rain the whole time! We are finished camping for 2025, but it is likely that we will return to Devon again next summer to soak in more of the beauty!
