We have been on several fun adventures so far this summer! I wanted to do a little post about our adventures to share with you (and to keep as a bit of a memory log for myself). Here is a round-up of our early summer outings! What have you been up to so far this summer?
Camping
We went camping back in April (and you can read about that here: Camping in the North Wessex Downs. In May, we went camping again near Cheltenham, right next to the Cotswold Way. We stayed at Big Skies Glamping which had about 6 tent pitches, and it was a lovely location. It was such a fun experience, and we enjoyed going for a walk on part of the Cotswold Way, which is a famous walking path. You can also find out more in my YouTube vlog of our camping trip.
Cotswold Wildlife Park
On the late May bank holiday, we went with the family to the zoo! The weather was a bit unpredictable, but we still managed a picnic and got to see the animals. Wilbur loves going to the zoo! See here for a past visit: A Visit to Cotswold Wildlife Park.
London – Spirited Away
An amazingly fun day out was our trip to London to see the production of Spirited Away! It was such an amazing theatre version of the anime film, and I also enjoyed doing a bit of shopping at Foyles book shop. Again, you can see my YouTube vlog if you want to know more about the books I picked up!
British Citizenship
A highlight of my life, not just of summer 2024, was getting my British citizenship! You can read about this in my previous post: British Citizenship.
Afternoon Tea
We went to Burford (a famous village in the Cotswolds) to celebrate Lucy’s mum’s retirement. We had delicious afternoon tea! For a REALLY OLD post on Burford, see here: Autumn Outings in Oxfordshire
Port Meadow
A favourite walking place for us is Port Meadow, near Oxford. We had a lovely walk and saw lots of horses, as well as some cows who got in “trouble” for being on the wrong side of the fence. It was so funny being stopped by a park warden and asked “have you seen the cows?!”.
I’m looking forward to lots more adventures and sharing them with you soon! I’ll be taking a little break from the blog as I’ll be busy the rest of the summer, but be on the lookout for autumn content from late September. 🙂
