I hope everyone had an enjoyable Christmas 2019 and restful holiday! I spent 10 days in Vancouver with my family, and Lucy was with hers in the UK. Everyone in my family was sick so we took it easy, but it was nice to go for quiet walks on the dykes, and do a bit of festive baking (see my recipe for Intense Ginger Cookies).
My family’s tradition is to decorate the tree Christmas Eve, have a snacky dinner, and play a game; this year it was Scrabble. We also always watch the cartoon version of How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It’s nothing extravagant, but those traditions are often the best.
I hope everyone enjoys the rest of their holidays and I’ll be back in 2020 with weekly posts, including lots of new house and garden content!
